Rusty Stokes confident about peak fitness

Red-ball skipper Ben Stokes’ comeback to competitive cricket has been one of the key talking topics for the home side as England’s grueling home season gets off on Thursday (June 1) with the one-off Test against Ireland. Stokes’ ability to bowl has been hampered by a reoccurring knee issue, but he seemed confident in his physical condition.

Stokes stated, I have worked very hard with the medical staff in Chennai, who were in communication with the ECB folks, and put myself into a point where I feel like I am back at 2019, 2020 space in terms of my own body and fitness. I have unquestionably given myself the best chance, but the mind and body are two very different things. I have, nevertheless, given myself the finest opportunity.
