Virat Kohli, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma : Who will be ICC ‘Player Of The Month’?

 

Virat, Jemimah and Deepti Sharma were nominated for the ICC ‘Player of the Month’.

On Thursday, the Asia Cup champions Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma were nominated for the ICC “Player of the Month” award in the men’s and women’s divisions, respectively, along with batting whiz Virat Kohli.While Rodrigues and Sharma were shortlisted as a result of their crucial contributions to the Indian women’s cricket team’s Asia Cup victory, Kohli received his first nomination for his batsmanship in the T20 World Cup victories over Pakistan and the Netherlands.

While teammate Deepti Sharma was recognized as Player of the Tournament and shared the top wicket-taking honors, Jemimah Rodrigues finished the competition as the top run scorer.Rodrigues, who was earlier nominated in August after her outstanding performances in the Commonwealth Games, was yet again the main reason for India’s recent success in women’s cricket.Rodrigues was the tournament’s top run-scorer when her team triumphed over Sri Lanka in the championship game, amassing 217 runs from eight games.

In October, Kohli amassed 205 runs and displayed some of his very best play. In scoring an unbeaten 62 against the tenacious Netherlands, he appeared at ease.The defining innings he played in front of a sold-out crowd in Melbourne as his team defeated Pakistan was the highlight with a wonderful 82 not out from 53 balls, Kohli led his team from 31 for 4 to hunt down 160 off the final ball.

Along with Kohli, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe and David Miller of South Africa were nominated.
