Dinesh Karthik’s health is being questioned: Rahul Dravid responds to the press

During the match against South Africa, Dinesh Karthik experienced back spasms.

An update on Dinesh Karthik’s health was given at a press conference by head coach Rahul Dravid on the eve of the game.

After losing to South Africa by five wickets in the current Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup, Team India will look to rebound when they face Bangladesh on Wednesday at the Adelaide Oval. Dinesh Karthik, the wicketkeeper-batter, has some injury concerns going into the game after leaving the field in the final few overs of the match against South Africa due to back discomfort.

Rahul Dravid said that Dinesh Karthik had pulled up really well at the start of the match, but he got a spasm while jumping to collect the ball and landed badly. He also said that with the treatment, Dinesh had improved well and had attended training. Only after the whole assessment, they can make a final decision.

Karthik only managed to score 6 runs from 15 balls against South Africa. Consequently, he has a few problems with his form.

Team India is currently in second place in Group 2 with 4 points, followed by Bangladesh in third with the same number of points. With 5 points, South Africa is, as of now, first.
